Global Leadership Program for Senior Government Officers


Overview

  • Target: Senior government officials and executives of public agencies
  • Duration: 43 weeks (around 10 months)
  • Attendance: Around 50
  • Schedule: 2020.2.17. - 12.11. / 3 semesters

Objective of Education

  • To deepen understanding on major international issues including Northeast Asia and Korean Peninsula
  • To equip senior government officials with competency to effectively cope with global changes
  • To build networks among participants and to create synergy through close cooperation in public sector in tackling tasks related to international affairs

Course Characteristics

  • Long-term education course targeted to senior government officials and executives of public agencies
  • Cultivating understanding on foreign affairs issues through regional study and field trips in Korea and abroad
  • Expanding education on liberal arts and strengthening foreign language education including second foreign language
  • Promoting action-oriented learning and voluntary activities

International Conference and Negotiation Program


Overview

  • Target: Persons in charge of international affairs in government departments, local governments and public institutions
  • Duration: 5 days
  • Attendance: Around 40
  • Schedule: September of 2020

Objective of Education

  • To understand bilateral and multilateral negotiation
  • To strengthen competency to participate in international conferences
  • To cultivate global mind and increase competencies in international affairs

Course Characteristics

  • Exercise and case-based education to strengthen practical international negotiation competency
  • Practical training and education on general information of international conferences to increase related capacity

Diplomatic Workshop for University Students


Overview

  • Target: Sophomore, junior and senior university students nationwide
  • Duration: 1 week (twice a year)
  • Attendance: Around 70 (Annual total: around 140)
  • Schedule: 2020.2.3. - 2.7. / August
  • Evaluation: Evaluation of each group based on international conference simulation

Objective of Education

  • To increase understanding of major diplomatic and international issues
  • To cultivate competency to enter the international stage such as international organizations

Course Characteristics

  • Lectures by diplomats and experts to enhance students’ understanding on international relations
  • Lectures on MOFA and international organizations

Course for Gyeonggi-do Gov’t International Affairs Officials


Overview

  • Target: Sophomore, junior and senior university students nationwide
  • Duration: 3 days (twice a year)
  • Attendance: Around 20-30 per semester
  • Schedule: June / December

Objective of Education

  • Enhancing Korea’s diplomatic capacity through systematical education that focuses on tasks related to interactions with foreign governments that should be performed by local governments, in order to maintain the sustainability of “omnidirectional” diplomacy amid the diversification of diplomatic agents
  • Cultivating global communication capabilities by learning key diplomatic terms

Course Characteristics

  • Offer Case study-based lectures by current diplomatic officials on the diplomatic tasks t hat should be performed by local governments ,such as treaties and MOUs
  • Offer practical English classes and hands-on classes which are tailored to the specific needs of the local government workers interacting with foreign governments and hands

Special Lecture on Major International Issues


Overview

  • Target: University students nationwide
  • Duration: Year-round
  • Attendance: Around 3,000 - 4,000
  • Schedule: March-June / September-December during the semester

Objective of Education

  • To increase understanding of college students on major international issues and to provide the opportunity to learn global manner
  • To cultivate global mind of future generation through the outreach programs visiting universities nationwide

Course Characteristics

  • Lectures by honorary KNDA professors, former heads of overseas diplomatic missions, who have extensive experience in international issues
