Center For Diplomatic History Studies

Purposes

Center for Diplomatic History Studies is responsible for finding, collecting, analyzing, and publishing diplomatic materials beneficial to decision making of foreign policies and diplomatic history studies. The specific purposes of Center for Diplomatic History Studies are as follows.(1) To improve the fundamental infrastructure of diplomatic history studies(2) To strengthen diplomatic competency by consolidating proper case studies and effective practice(3) To build up a correct view of history from the education of diplomatic history (4) To maximize the efficiency of system of diplomatic documents

Activities

Development of oral history collection

Center for Diplomatic History Studies collects oral statements of former diplomats to complement the historic sources about significant diplomatic events, which as a result the collection will be used for research and education of Center for diplomatic history.

Annual Conference for diplomatic history studies

Center for Diplomatic History Studies annually holds an conference for diplomatic history studies to promote the practical application of diplomatic documents in an academic area and develop much closer cooperation system with other organizations and schools doing diplomatic history researches.

Future plans

Center for Diplomatic History Studies will carry forward new projects such as publication of diplomatic documentation, buildup of Korean diplomat database, and diplomatic history education.
